Abstract

Myopia is one of the most important refractive errors worldwide due to its high incidence in recent years. It is estimated that by 2050 half of the world's population will suffer from myopia, and 10% from pathological myopia (greater than -6.0 diopters).
It begins in the school stage and tends to progress. It is one of the main causes of visual disability in children and adolescents, affecting academic performance, psychosocial development and future work activity.
