Abstract

We present the case of a 33-year-old patient without risk factors who presented with a spontaneous tubo-ovarian abscess related to an infected endometrioma. A tubo-ovarian abscess in an endometrioma is a very rare complication, and its occurrence in patients without risk factors is even more infrequent. The case aims to provide further evidence regarding the clinical and ultrasound findings, as well as the treatment for this complication. This case signifies that an endometrioma can progress to an infectious complication, which requires timely surgical treatment as it may become life-threatening if ruptured.
