The article presents a robust methodology and a detailed analysis of the practice of early attachment at the Metropolitan Hospital, highlighting a high rate of implementation in both cesarean births (83%) and cephalovaginal births (90%). These results are encouraging and reflect an institutional commitment to best practices in postnatal care. However, the article notes that, at the national level, only 54.4% of newborns initiate breastfeeding in the first hour of life, which underlines the need to strengthen strategies to improve these rates.
