Introduction: this study describes the main characteristics of the research within the context of a private hospital. Methodology: An online survey was conducted that was sent anonymously to the institution's health personnel during the period October to December 2021. When examining the composition of the professionals, 51 were women and 49 were men. The medical specialties that participated most frequently were surgical ones with 27%, followed by Internal Medicine with 20% and Pediatrics with 12%. The main barriers identified for the development of research in the hospital were the lack of time availability (42.3%) and the absence of qualified personnel to support data processing (42.3%). The main strategies identified to encourage research within the hospital were to provide care and training to professionals from the different services according to collective and individual needs and to develop courses and training in the area of research methodology and biostatistics. This research not only contributes to empirical understanding of the dynamics of personnel conducting research within the institution, but also offers insights that can inform evidence-based policies to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in research settings. hospitable.
